Our Vision

Dear Partner:

While 2020 has been a year of tremendous challenge, it also brought us examples of extraordinary resilience, innovation, and creativity as communities looked to continue moving forward while limiting the spread of the pandemic. And Helios Education Foundation was privileged to see some of that resilience and innovation firsthand.

We had the opportunity to watch as our partners rose to the occasion in extraordinary ways. We saw them figure out how to continue supporting students and families. And, we also worked collaboratively with other organizations to support communities and educators. Despite the challenges, we never lost sight of our mission – to create opportunities for individuals to succeed in postsecondary education.

We continued to live out our fundamental beliefs in community, equity, investment, and partnership this year. Under the leadership of our board of directors, we invested more than $15 million in programs and initiatives that are creating opportunities for students. Some of these investments were specific to COVID-19 and included crisis funding to keep meeting the basic needs of individuals and communities. Some of these investments are long-term strategies that we believe will improve the education system for generations to come. All of these investments embody our values and our commitment to students in order to create an environment in which they can realize their potential.

Helios remains strongly committed to doing everything we can to support students, teachers, families, and communities as we adjust to life post-pandemic, a life we know will have to rely on innovation and creativity to adapt and meet the educational needs of the future. And, we know there is no better way to get there than to continue to embrace partnership and collaboration. In 2021, we look forward to welcoming you to the Helios Education Campus where we can work together to create more opportunities for students to be successful in postsecondary education. While the Campus was officially completed in 2020, the restrictions of COVID-19 prohibited us from opening it up to the community.  But, we are grateful for the individuals who helped us realize our dream of having an Education Campus that will foster collaboration, inspire innovation, and propel student success forward.

Thank you for your commitment to students. Together, we will become stronger in our focus on the ultimate goal of student success.
