Teach for America Miami-Dade
$1,350,000 Invested
Each individual’s picture of success is as different as their path toward that success. What unifies us, however, is the sense of fulfillment and pride once success is achieved.
Teach for America (TFA) recruits diverse and enthusiastic leaders to become TFA corps members who serve as classroom teachers for two years in a low-income community, where they are employed by local schools. After two years, corps members become part of the TFA alumni network.
Motivated by their time in the classroom, many continue teaching while others pursue leadership roles in government, community engagement, or philanthropy, or dedicate their careers to fields that shape educational policy and address issues of equity.
Helios Education Foundation’s latest investment of $1,350,000 in Teach for America Miami-Dade is an investment in the tenacity and unwavering commitment of corps members to the success of all students, but particularly low-income students. Teach for America corps members support the academic and social growth of their students by working alongside seasoned education leaders, community members, and engaged parents to connect potential to possibilities.
By reshaping educational outcomes for students, Teach for America corps members often reshape their personal outcomes, transformed by their classroom experiences, their students, and the limitless possibilities made real through education.
