College Knowing & Going

One of Helios’ priorities over the past 5 years has been to increase student’s access to the knowledge and information they need to pursue a postsecondary education. Through our work on the College Knowing & Going Initiative, more than 150,000 students took the critical steps necessary to graduate high school and enter postsecondary education.

In 2019, Helios focused the work even further to develop College Readiness Teams in various communities throughout Arizona. These teams include educators, community members, and other supportive adults to help students walk through the steps necessary to graduate high school and enter college. These steps include: taking college entrance exams, exploring postsecondary institutions and programs of study, filling out college applications, and filling out financial aid forms including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

These more personal and more focused efforts are helping students throughout Arizona realize their potential and envision a future full of opportunity.
