As Helios Education Foundation and its partners reflect on the systemic accomplishments in 2013 that without question are moving the needle toward better preparing students in Arizona and Florida for postsecondary education success, it’s clear that many students in both states are still struggling to make the grade. If students are to be prepared to compete in a fast-paced, knowledge-based, globally-competitive economy, the bar must be raised to reflect the rigor required to succeed in tomorrow’s workplace, and leaders must invest in building and connecting education systems across the entire birth-to-career education continuum.
