October 1, 2010 - September 30, 2011
The Foundation's community investments are made across three Impact Areas: Early Childhood Education, the Transition Years (Grades 5-12) and Postsecondary Scholarships. Over time, it is anticipated that approximately 55 percent of Helios' annual community investments will be made in support of Transition Years programs and initiatives.

Endowment

The Foundation's investment objectives are based on the sound and prudent management of the endowment, designed to exist in perpetuity. Helios Education Foundation's community investment strategy and strong financial position are developed under the close guidance and leadership of the Foundation's Finance Committee chaired by Tom Herndon and in partnership with the Foundation's Chief Financial Officer, Michael Chesin, and the Foundation's independent financial consulting firm.

McGladrey & Pullen Certified Public Accountants conducted an independent auditor's report and issued an unqualified opinion of the Foundation's financial statements and did not issue a management letter for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2011.
